It is a great pleasure to announce that the Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver (APASL) Conference is to be held in Kyoto on March 27th-30th 2007.
It is an honor to organize the APASL 2007 in Japan, with the theme of "Viral Hepatitis and Hepatocellular Carcinoma in Asia".
We have an enormous numbers of patients suffering from hepatoceullar carcinoma (HCC), due in particular to hepatitis B and C viral infection. Thus, we have an urgent need to prevent the development of cirrhosis and HCC and to provide better treatment for such patients through a basic understanding of virology, clinical features, and treatment modalities.
The scientific program will cover post-graduate courses, guideline symposia, guest lectures, various symposia, plenary, oral and poster sessions with debates. We are sure this meeting will be a great opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience, especially of the therapy and prevention of HCC, between the scientists of Asian Pacific and other countries.
We would like to extend a hearty welcome to Japan, and do hope you will have a wonderful visit to the ancient city of Kyoto in the season of beautiful Cherry Blossoms.
