Metastatic Colorectal Carcinoma 15 Feb 2007

Patient Details

Male.  Age 74.  Presented with metastatic colorectal carcinoma to the liver.

Procedure

A total of 200mg Irinotecan used, 2 vials of 300-500µm beads.  Total delivered - 4ml. 

Contrast agent was Omnipaque 300mg 1/ml - 200ml used. 

Satisfactory embolisation was achieved.

Comments

The overall results were excellent.  Side effects were pain after embolisation, this was not considered better than conventional TACE.
